Galvanic Electrolysis Doesn’t Rely on Heat or Pigment

While thermolysis uses heat to burn the follicle and blend combines heat with current, galvanic works differently: it uses a low-voltage direct current to trigger a chemical reaction inside the follicle. When the current flows through the probe, it turns the salt and water naturally present in the tissue into sodium hydroxide – a strong alkali that breaks down the dermal papilla and the stem cells in the bulge region.

This is why it works on white, gray, blonde, or fine hair that lasers ignore. It doesn’t care about color or thickness, but the chemistry of the root. That’s why, even today, the most skilled electrologists rely on galvanic for stubborn, deep, or resistant hairs.
